The Department of Management Studies-NIT Trichy (DoMS-NIT
Trichy) was born out of a vision of the architects of
the great institution called National Institute of
Technology Trichy (erstwhile Regional Engineering
College, Trichy). The seed, which was planted in 1978,
has grown into a “Bodhi tree” enlightening and shaping
careers for more than three decades. DoMS-NIT Trichy is
the only institution which is funded by the Ministry of
HRD among the NITs.
Since its inception, DoMS-NIT Trichy’s mission has been
focused on contributing to growth and development
efforts in India with an emphasis on research. The
institution has a strong industry relationship which is
constantly evident from the inputs in formulating the
syllabus and the workshops in collaboration with the
industry. DoMS-NIT Trichy offers a stimulating
environment to faculty and students alike.
The vast resource of alumni is the biggest asset that
DoMS-NIT Trichy can boast off. The alumni occupy
prominent positions in the industry. The concept of
mentorship between the students and the alumni provides
a lifeline for immense growth for the DoMSians.
