INACON’20-Industry Academia Connect
INACON'20 saw an array of eminent speakers deliver their remarkable knowledge and experience spanning across two days. Day 1 saw Ms. Subha V, who spoke about innovation in different companies and the tools used. Her talk involved a lot of examples of innovative thinking and AI-driven technologies. This was followed by Mr. Ganesh Balakrishnan, for the 2nd GL session, who delivered his essential views on the Product Development, Life Cycle, and the importance of a detailed R&D before making any product. Day 2 of INACON'20 saw Mr. Suman Saha share his experience with Raymond and the company's historic growth. He discussed the importance of giving Human Touch to promotional strategies. The second session on day 2 was by Dr. Avnish Kshatriya, who discussed the information system's evolution and its different types. He gave the students a deep insight into the topic of Enterprise Architecture. He went on to explain the importance of digital transformation. The GLs proved to be very useful, with our eminent speakers packing their lecture with a lot of information and at the same time emphasizing over their practical application and gave the students at DoMS a lot to ponder over. Panel discussions of INACON'20 started with an insightful session on a relevant topic, "Reshaping India's Business Landscape in a VUCA world." It was discussed on the first day of INACON'20 with Mr. Dhiraj Tripathi, Mr. Mathew Joseph, Mr. Pradeepta Mishra, and Mr. Rohith Kumar, as our panelists and Mr. Ganesh Vancheeswaran as the moderator. The panelists threw light upon various perspectives, stated many facts, and offered their opinions on this raging topic while providing a holistic overview for the queries from our students. Leadership is all about leading and guiding individuals and organizations alike for the better. And our guests Mrs. Annapurna A, Mr. Kamal Artwani, Mr. MVN Rao, and Mr. Visukumar Gopal discussed all about how to become a smart and influential leader in today's corporate environment in the panel discussion held on the second day of INACON'20, mediated by Mr. Paul J. for the topic "Wisdom based leadership in Corporate Culture." Multiple perspectives with regards to leadership were elucidated, and all the queries were addressed, keeping the view of Wisdom-based Leadership.


PRABANDHAN’19-The guest lecture series.

The much awaited event of DoMS NIT Trichy, PRABANDHAN'19, held on the 29th and 30th of March 2019 was a huge success. The guest lecture series was kick started by a session on the topic 'Agility for Industry 4.0', taken up by Mr. Prasad Sawant, Agile Coach, ANZ. The lecture toured through the four industrial revolutions and how agility plays a huge role in today's rapidly changing era. He ended the session on a positive note ,highlighting the immense opportunities Industry 4.0 has to offer.


In an ever evolving business world, the second session of Day 1 of Prabandhan'19 had Mr. Mohan Babu bring to us a new concept called '6G Marketing'. Our beloved alumni and Deputy General Manager of Marketing, Khazana Jewellers, had a very interactive session with the students and gave insights on marketing jobs that await them in the marketplace with the advent of digitalisation.


The panel discussion of PRABANDHAN'19 steered it's way around 'How does Management change in the digital era?'. With five of the leading industry experts around the discussion table, there was no space for lag time. Topics ranged from how Industry 3.0 had changed their lives, to the capabilities that Industry 4.0 has to offer for the upcoming generations. The panel of experts included Mr. Ravin Carr, CEO at GBS India, Ms. Mahalakshmi Vivekanandan, Principal Product Manager at Oracle, Ms. Vassundara Nattes, National Business Head at WizardTech Solutions, Mr. Ankoor Dasguupta, VP - Brand Solutions & Marketing at SHEROES and was moderated by Mr. Prasad Sawant, Agile Coach at ANZ.

The second day of PRABANDHAN'19 had much more excitement to it after the enlightening sessions of the first day. The opening session on "Banking 4.0 - Change to Transformation" by Mr. Govindasamy Devaraj, VP - Trade Services, Standard Chartered Global Business Services, was thought- provoking. He gave insights on how banking is undergoing transformation by incorporating various new age technologies. He also guided the students through the various career options prevailing in the Banking industry parallelly answering queries of the curious students.

AVANCE - 2016

Managing Human Resources is the key to managing the future. The future managers of Department of Management Studies from National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli, had taken an initiative to conduct a two-day Human Resource Conclave-AVANCE 2016 on 10th and 11th of September 2016, by inviting some of the prominent personnel from varied corporate sectors, to throw light on specific futuristic requirements in Human Resources and to share their perspective on efficient utilization of people.

The first day started with Mr. K. Y. Ravi Kumar, General Manager(HR), Nagarjuna Oil Corporation Limited, who addressed on ‘Performance Management’ from the basic definition of productivity and Jung’s theory to the realization of human potential, to highlight the importance of feedback in performance management. Mr. Rajendran Dandapani, Director of Engineering, ZOHO Corporation, enlightened the students on ‘HR perspective of ZOHO Corp’ by giving a glimpse through what ZOHO is interested in perceiving from employees and company’s work culture, along with ZOHO University’s motto to empower students. Mr. Anupam Bharteeya, Vice President, Insights and Data, Capgemini, imparted knowledge on ‘Analytics and its influence in HR domain’ by illustrating qualitative and quantitative entities of employees with numerical data. Ms. Lavanya, HR Manager, Caterpillar Inc., brought the importance of ‘Inclusion and Diversity’ to limelight, with crisp thoughts on need for diversification and encouraged a healthy discussion on ‘Women leaders’ and ‘Recruitment Discrimination based on gender’.

The 2nd day of the conclave commenced with presentation given by Mr. Venkatesh Kanna, Senior Project Executive, IBM, discussing the ‘Future of work and Workplace’, to give insights on forecast regarding future working environment. Mr. Sriram Mohan, Ex Vice-President, HDFC, gave his views on ‘People Management’ highlighting the need to value each employee and his/her contribution towards the company along with motivational factors and delegation of work in banking sector. The conclave’s last presentation was given by Mr. Senthil K, Director (Products), Freshdesk, who threw light on replacement of performance meetings with feedback meetings, goal oriented systems and success of start-ups.

The students of DoMS found the perceptions of every speaker to be strongly appealing and hope to learn from other various personalities of the corporate sector to feel the taste of Management before actually entering the scenario, to keep themselves abreast.
