Chapter Meet

The passion to recollect the days spend at DoMS-NIT Trichy & to meet their old friends was fully evident in the recent chapter meet held at Bangalore. They turned up in droves to get together for the city-wise chapter meet organized by their alma mater’s alumni association. DoMS alumni from as far back as 1996 graced the alumni meet with their presence. Some students from the current batch were also in the present for the meet, allowing the alumni reminisce their times in DoMS-NIT Trichy and also stay updated about the current happenings in their alma mater. This was a golden opportunity for the current batch students to establish a sound rapport with the B-school’s 30-odd year old alumni base. Most of the alumni in the top echelons in various esteemed companies like Volvo, Genpact, Infosys etc. and their presence at their respective chapter meets allowed the current batch to draw on the experience and knowledge of the alumni.

Batch meet

A class of students getting together after over two decades is an extremely rare occurrence indeed. But, as DoMS-NIT Trichy proved it, this was not impossible. The graduates of 1992-93 turned up in considerable strength at the campus in Trichy itself for an exclusive batch meet. It was a colourful get-together indeed, as the alumni reveled in their experiences and memories they had in their beloved department. Dr. Thamaraiselvan, the present HoD, was in close contact with his classmates even before the meet, and used this event as an opportunity to request his classmates to schedule sessions and interact with the current batch students in group discussions, workshops, seminars and guest lectures. The grand success of the batch meet can only be attributed to the level of involvement of the 1992 batch, and to the planning done by the alumni committee.
We are planning for more batch meets in the years to come.
